MINUTES OF EXECUTIVE SESSION MEETING
October 12, 2006
These minutes made public at Regular Meeting of February 14, 2008 after reviewing in Executive Session
The Board of Trustees of Moraine Township went into executive session at 5:50 PM. Upon roll call Trustees Gamson, Moreno, Plouché and Zaluda and Supervisor Barnes were present.
The purpose of the session was to discuss personnel issues. Supervisor Barnes advised she wanted to share with the Board her concern about how we represent ourselves in public when we are recognized as representing the Township.
Board agreed that all Township officials should make sure to clarify our advocacy in various situations as follows. If not representing or speaking on behalf of the Township in a public setting, one should state that although he or she is an elected official, he or she is speaking as an individual and not on behalf of the Township. Also, if an issue should arise to which any member of the Board would like to represent the Township and therefore feel compelled to speak as a Township official, the matter should be brought to the Board ahead of time for approval wherever possible. At all times each of us should keep in mind that whatever we do say in public will reflect back on the Township.
With no further Executive Session business to conduct Trustee Zaluda moved, seconded by Trustee Plouché, that the Executive Session be adjourned at 6:05 PM. Motion carried.
Respectfully submitted,
