MINUTES OF EXECUTIVE SESSION MEETING
September 27, 2007

These minutes made public at February 14, 2008 meeting after reviewing in Executive Session

The Board of Trustees of Moraine Township went into executive session at 7:02 PM. Upon roll call Trustees Gamson, Moreno, Plouché and Zaluda as well as Supervisor Barnes were present.

The purpose of the session was to discuss personnel issues. Supervisor Barnes advised she wanted everyone on the Board to share their thoughts about her concerns. She cited two issues of concern. First, the use of Moraine Township’s logo on a flyer not distributed by the Township; and second, the report she received about a trustee’s conduct at the fire which broke out at North Shore Estates on Tuesday evening, September 25.

Consensus of the Board is that the Township logo should not be used without the approval of the Supervisor. Also, any board member involved in a community event, meeting, or situation when not on official Township business should not represent himself or herself as being there in an official Township capacity.

The Board further agreed that Township officials should state he or she is not acting on behalf of the Township when speaking in public as an advocate for any issue that is not in representation of the Township. If and when an issue arises to which any member of the Board would like to represent the Township, the matter should be brought to the Board ahead of time for approval, or to the Supervisor’s attention if the next Board meeting is after the occurrence.

Trustee Zaluda moved, seconded by Trustee Plouché that the Executive Session be adjourned. Motion carried at 7:30 PM.
