Food Pantry/Clothes Closet
Hours: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 9:00 AM to Noon and 1:00 to 3:00 PM. Also available flexible times and days to provide for emergencies.

The public is welcome to donate non-expired food and clean/nearly new clothing; and to volunteer their services. Those in need simply come to the Township Office at 777 Central, Highland Park, on those days and times.

After major food drives conducted by the Postal Service workers in May, Ravinia Festival Day, or holiday drives, volunteers are especially needed to lend a hand in shelving goods. In fact, throughout the year, volunteers–individuals or groups–are very welcome to help us keep our supplies neatly arranged. Contact the Township Office to arrange a convenient time.

   

Pantry Plants Garden Project
In the Spring to Fall growing season, the Township has a "Pantry Plants Garden Project." Families are encouraged to join together in this project to provide fresh food to supplement the Food Pantry. Volunteers work the soil, plant donated plants, weed and till, and harvest.

Since its inception in summer 2006, the Park District of Highland Park has generously loaned the garden space in Woodridge Park in west Highland Park, and Anton's Fruit Ranch has supplied young vegetables of our choosing for planting. We are very grateful, and so are our client beneficiaries, who are also invited to help with the chores.

Get "down and dirty" with the Township this year! Make it a family or organization's community project: help work the garden at Woodridge Park. Contact the Township Office at 847-432-3240 to schedule a time.
